Chanticlair Golf Course: Mixer League Rules

1. Please remember that every stroke must be accounted for: i.e. no Mulligans.
2. Unplayable Lie: If you have to move a ball in order to make a shot, you can move the ball a club length, no closer to hole and add a one shot penalty. Ex: ball next to a tree.
3. If the ball lands in a ‘bad lie’ (divot or a dirt area) in your Fairway, the ball may be rolled over with the head of the club. In case of wet conditions, the ball can be lifted, cleaned and replaced. The
ball can not be moved in the sand traps.
4. Hit the wrong ball. Replace as near as possible - no penalty.
5. Lost ball: drop as near as possible to where it was lost. Apply 1 stroke penalty.

6. Ball out of bounds: No provisional needed. Take a drop where it went OB - 3 club lengths from OB, no closer to the hole, and add a 1 stroke penalty.
7. Tie Scores: For Individual Play, tie breaker is based on the Gross score of Hole #8. If still tied, both players are winners. For Team/Scramble play, the tie breaker is based on Gross score of hole
#8. If still tied, tie breaker is hole #5. If still tied, both teams win.
8. Hole #1: When playing from the Silver tees, and a ball is hit into the pond: Drop a ball next to the pond, and hit from there for your second shot. There is no additional penalty.
9. Holes 2 and 3: free lift from drainage bed. Drop behind the drainage onto a dry area. No penalty if ball can't be found in ditch.
10. Hole #4: If your tee shot lands in water, down the hill or in woods, the ball is OB. Take a 1 stroke penalty and use the island drop zone. If the ball lands on rocks or the edge of a barrier on the island, move to the closest point of relief, no penalty. If the player decides to place the ball on the upper level of the island, in the rough, add a penalty stroke.

11. Safety concern for hole #4: if a tee shot is hit down the hill, but short of the water, the league requires that you play your next shot from the island drop zone, as your third shot. This is both a safety concern, because of the slope, and a pace of play issue.
12. Hole #5: If a Tee shot, from the silver tee, lands in the pond, drop a ball on the far side of the pond and add a penalty shot. Player is now hitting their third shot.
13. Hole #6: if the ball lands in the water areas, add a penalty shot, and drop in the appropriate spot: either in the drop zone by the pond or behind the brook, i.e. right side of the cart path. In both
cases you are placing your ball behind the water hazard, onto a dry area.
14. Hole #7: If the ball is hit into the lateral water hazard, use the drop zone area and add a penalty stroke.
15. Maximum strokes per hole is 2x PAR, except hole #9 which stays at 9 strokes max. .

16. Play READY GOLF. Example: don’t need to strictly follow “order of play” .

Tee Boxes for Senior Players: i.e. 75 years or older
For Senior Men, players may tee off from the Gold tees.
For Senior Women, players have new Tee areas available in front of the already existing Red tee boxes. This new Tee area will be marked on holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9.
Players under 75 years old continue to use Red (women) or Silver (men) tees.
** Whichever Tees you decide to use, must be used for that entire round of golf.
